In Precision Mounting Technologies we design and manufacture vehicle mounting systems and docking stations for in-vehicle communication equipment. From laptop computers, tablets and hand-helds, to GPS terminals, two-way radios, and full console systems, we are able to provide ergonomically sound mounting products with full port replication. Whether it's police cruisers or military vehicles our solutions can withstand the most rugged of applications while maintaining the highest standards in safety.
The first step in quality manufacturing is choosing the correct material. The choice of aircraft aluminum rather then steel allows us to create a light weight product that absorbs vibration rather then magnifies it. While aluminum remains much more expensive, it allows us to round edges and corners to make a more ergonomically sound product. Equipped with the latest in computer numeric control (CNC) technology, we seek to use the most advanced methods to machine material rather than stamp it. This allows us to create tolerances lower than the laptop computer molds themselves. Our machine shop is equipped with CNC machining centers, turning centers and press brakes. Our products are designed using computer assisted drafting (CAD) and computer assisted machining (CAM) programs to give us the most flexibility in upgrades and advancements.
The Rack Slide System (RSS) was designed to deal with the dual airbag issues facing many of the police forces today. The airbag zone of the Ford Crown Victoria and Chevrolet Caprice has forced the mounting of laptops well below an ergonomically acceptable height. Our distinctive trigger-handle mechanism allows the operator to raise the laptop computer above the airbag zone, slide and swivel the unit to sit directly over the users lap. Once computer operation is completed, the user releases the trigger handle to return the laptop to the stowed position. This easy-up, easy-down system has been tested for safety in the event of airbag deployment and has proven successful. This system can also mount control heads, two-way radios, commercial note-pads, drink holders, and a variety of other accessories. The slotted base plate allows for an infinite number of mounting options to customize the system perfect for your requirements.
The word stealth best describes our series of docking stations. With a constant effort to make them as small and unobtrusive as possible, our low-profile docking stations are precision machined with aircraft aluminum for light weight and safe ergonomics. With our unique cut away delta-V design the footprint remains smaller than the laptop itself, with connections made underneath rather than out the back. This preserve every square inch of space that a vehicle mount requires, while provides full port replication. Our captured cylinder key locks prevent both theft and key-duplication. These locks come with common keys to facilitate fleet management. These easy-in, easy-out docking stations make docking and un-docking quick and simple.
